Have A Great Time With Tiami Cruises Barbados

It was a cloudy, windy, rainy, muggy day, yet it felt like the sun was shining down on us. We left the dock, we were given our safety instructions and the captain kicked the engine into over drive.

We sailed for roughly 45 minutes, then pulled up to a beach off the coast of St. Michaels, Barbados. We were a few hundred yards away from the beach, but we could damn near see the bottom of the ocean. From here, we all took a brief instructional for snorkeling and made our way into the water. We saw nothing when we first jumped in the ocean. The crew started throwing breadcrumbs and we were quickly surrounded by fish. Little yellow and black fish, big silver fish, huge thin circular fish were swimming in a frenzy all around, in between and into us. One literally planted a kiss on my gargles.

There was a wreckage of sorts below us and we were invited to journey down, but then the water and winds picked up so much the crew thought it was best if we just stayed above water. Not to soon after, we boarded and was taken up the coast to another location and snorkeled some more. Everyone was wiped out and famished afterwards.

A bell rang and as we looked around to see what the emergency was, we came to the immediate conclusion that it was the dinner bell. We knew they offered snacks and such, we didn't know ti was going to be a full fledged meal. There were braised and fried chicken wings, some what of an eggrolly thing, fruit, cheese and snack crackers for appetizers. Then they laid it down. The smell of the ocean was momentarily taken over by the smell of Rice and peas, flying fish, baked and fried chicken, macaroni, beets, gravy, and sweet bread. You couldn't have a true island meal with out a salad and biscuits, which they also provided. Dinner was catered by their own restaurant located on the dock we left from in Bridgetown, Barbados. Thank goodness for this for were we not just tired from the sun weather and the swimming, the open bar also paid a toll on us. Bajan Rum Punch was pouring like someone put homemade lemonade in the water fountain at your local school. I mean, when they say unlimited alcohol, they were not kidding.

Just as we kicked the drunken monkey off of our backs, the crew brings out a Rum Cake. For those that don;t know what that is... It is just what it implies. It's a dark cake make with currants, raisins, sometimes nuts, sometimes not, that literally soaks in spiced rum for a few days before it's served. Depending on your constitution, two slices can make you a little giggly. Meanwhile we all had about five rum punches a piece. We were truly feeling it.

Mike, the main bartender let me make a drink or two and from there on in, there was a bar battle. Shaun, the younger flair bartender and I were going at it until I dropped my bottle in the middle of a bar flair and lost the contest, but it was fun.

We had a dance off, started by Shaun the bartender and it basically turned into a dance party. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves, especially the kids.

All in all, if Tiami was rated up to 5 stars, I easily give it a 6 star rating. There was absolutely nothing that was forgotten and nothing more we could have hoped for, but some sunshine. Great staff, Great front office, Great times!!!

Thanks Tiami
