In Pennsylvania a man died for defending his friend. Not just any friend, but his Black Friend from an attack of racial slurs. The scene of the initial incident was inside of a bar.
James Michael Saylor, 24, was charged with criminal homicide in the murder of Chad Merrill, 25. Saylor was going full blown racist on Merrill's friend Jerrell Douglas calling him terrible things. Merrill and Douglas tried to ignore Saylor, but he was pretty devoted to his actions.
The bar owner kicked Saylor out for going ape sh*t. Saylor then walks to his 2010 Chevy Silverado pickup and gets his .45-caliber gun. It is said that Saylor shot into the building he was just escorted out of. A few ticks later Merrill walks outside in the direction of Saylor's pickup and then Merrill falls from a point blank slug to the chest. Saylor peels out of the parking lot striking another car and leaving evidence for cops to easily convict. Not to mention the blood that was all over the rear drivers side door of Saylor's pickup. It is said Merrill may have been trying to smooth over the earlier incident, but I guess we will never know.
It's ridiculous that one man lost his life and another goes to jail because of something as simple and never ending as differences in peoples race, color and creed. One day your sitting in a bar chilling and the next your eat chilled bologne sandwiches with spoiled milk because you couldn't tolerate seeing someone who didn't look like you. Then of course there's the good guy who just had a baby you robbed from seeing his child grow up. The baby will never know his/her father. The fact is, there is no excuse at all for this kind of behavior learned or innate. Let's see how they judge this one. Condolences to the Family and Friends.
