There’s a lot of things I will never understand about gangs, but this is the one that really rattled me. How can a gang target and kill innocent people, especially children?
What did these innocent, uninvolved children do? Did they wake up and go to school? Did they go to the store for some pizza and a soda? Did they go to play some baseball, basketball, tennis, hockey? Did they go to the Boys and Girls club? Did they go to the library?
Was any of the mentioned enough for a total stranger to murder them so they could be initiated into a gang? What was their crime? What did they do to you? Why rob a child of their future to get a tattoo, or a shirt or a color or a name? What is the purpose? Is it to prove how heartless the gang member can be?
Let’s put the shoe on the other foot. What if a little boy or girl is a straight A student. They did their chores. They went to church. They volunteered feeding the homeless. They helped little old ladies across the street. They did every thing possible they could to make the world a better place and then it happens. Someone hops out of a car and murders them for no reason at all. The family is in tears. The neighborhood is hurt because they just lost one of the best kids they have ever encountered. We will have lost someone who could have done something really great for the world.
Now, what if it happened to be that potential gang members little brother or sister? Now he’s wondering how this could have happened. Why would someone do this to the greatest young person?
Guess what, that’s what gang members are doing to families all across the board. I have heard that it’s too easy to initiate gang members by killing opposing gang members.
I heard of a situation where a gang member was caught a flat tire and a teenager walking by stopped to help him out. After assisting with changing the tire, another gang member rolled up and told the gang member with the flat to shoot the teenager that just helped him. He shot him and left him there bleeding out in the street. Why? What would make someone do such evil?
What ever happened to beating the crap out of potentials for initiation? Why attack someone who doesn’t even know their about to be attacked? Where is the glory in that? That’s like shooting a dog chained to a fence. What does that prove? Nothing.
Going to the jungle and going toe to toe with a lion is an accomplishment. Sneaking up on a lamb and blowing its brains out is not. There is no honor, no pride, no glory, no reason for this.
You guys do what you do as much as you want, but leaving the children and innocent people out of your campaign I’m sure would be greatly appreciated.
We have police, the government, and numerous groups who don’t give a damn about our children. Now we have to worry about gang members. When and where will we ever get a break? When will our children finally have a fair shake? When will you find it in your heart to save our children instead of saving a bullet for them?
The pain and struggle is real and honestly we need your help to keep our youth alive more than you know.
This may just be a waste of thought and ink, but it could also be the beginning of something great and profound. You guys can truly make a difference. With all the resources you have, you could open day cares, after school programs, food drives, instead of going the other way. It’s just a thought that I hope manifest into something positive.
